So, it's definitely not what you're thinking. That won't happen for awhile; sorry. Last week I went to the bike shop and picked up what I had been saving and waiting patiently for....
my new TT bike! Though I love BiBi (my road bike), I decided it was time to move on to a bike that actually fit me, and if I was going to buy a new bike and go through the whole bike fit process, I might as well get a TT bike, since I have been drooling over them at every triathlon I've done recently. A TT bike is one that is made to be more aerodynamic, and specifically used in races where drafting is not legal (like most tris). I'll give you a different view so you can see the features better...
See how the bottom tube is flatter and the cables are routed internally? The huge difference, however, is that there are built-in aero bars, which is where the gear shifters are located. This allows the rider to be in "aero position" most of the time they're riding, like so:
I love the new ride! It fits me so much better so I'm able to get more power from my legs and can go faster. The jury's still out on the name.
Congrats on your new addition, looks great! I sent you an invite to an early b-day party for Hayden before we move. But it's on a weekday, it was the only day that would work. Anyway, no pressure to come but wanted to let you guys know that you are welcome!
